Start with the manufacturer’s exact wording

A rinseable head does not make the handle waterproof. For example, Philips documents rinseable attachments but a dry handle on some Multigroom models, while other products are explicitly showerproof. Use the manual for the full model number, not a marketplace category label.
Cordless use is the safety baseline
Wet/dry shavers are normally designed to operate cordless. Do not use a charging cable, dock or mains-connected appliance in a shower or over a filled sink. Dry the appliance and charging contacts as instructed before reconnecting power.
Rinsing and cleaning
- Switch the shaver off and disconnect it from power before cleaning.
- Open or remove the head only as the manual describes; small cutters and foils can be damaged by force.
- Rinse at the stated water temperature and let parts dry before reassembly or charging.
- Use only manufacturer-approved cleaning fluid or lubrication where specified.
What an IP rating does—and does not—mean
An IP rating is useful only when the manufacturer publishes it for the exact model. IPX7, for example, documents a water-ingress test under defined conditions; it does not authorise every kind of shower, immersion, hot-water or charging use. Follow the product manual even when a rating is present.
